Vision and Leadership Matter
Behind every innovative school there is always a leader and a team with a clear vision. We have never seen a successful case of school change in the absence of vision and leadership. It just doesn’t happen. At World Leadership School, we support school leadership in the following ways:
Vision. There are many different ideas about school reform and it is hard to see a clear way forward. We help schools see through the fog, understand the future of learning, and connect with ideas that fit the culture and mission of the school.
We have worked with dozens of schools to design and launch bold change initiatives. We believe one of the best ways to understand change is to visit another school where it’s happening. We help create connections in order to build support and bring new ideas into focus. We use case studies to understand what works and what does not.
Coaching. Leaders need one-on-one coaching in times of change, just as teachers do. The right coach can create a safe space and help us see the patterns and narratives in our words that we cannot. The right coach can ask questions so that we can better manage complex problems. The right coach can help us understand how to step into our humanity and connect with others in order to lead.
Our goal is to facilitate a rich conversation with administrators, faculty leaders, parents, trustees, and other key stakeholders around the future of learning. We believe creating a vision of change should be fun, inspiring, and mind-blowing. It should lead groups to make concrete commitments and define clear next steps.
Note: World Leadership School does not provide full-scale strategic planning support. Rather, we focus on workshops and other design experiences that help school communities envision, articulate, and take action around learning innovation.
“As facilitator of our annual company summit, Ross Wehner helped my staff think big and connect to the ‘why’ behind our work. We are a better organization as a result.” Devereaux McClatchey, President, Carney Sandoe & Associates

More and more schools are hiring coaches for new and experienced school leaders who need support with relationship management, culture change, major initiatives, and more.
Coaching is a partnership that helps to identify challenges, deepen awareness, find solutions, and set goals — then create and implement plans to actually achieve those goals.
A coach is someone who truly sees and appreciates you, someone who supports and challenges you, someone whose only job is to be in your corner.
Bart Erbach is a certified professional coach with World Leadership School who approaches coaching as a thought partner. He believes that clients can identify their own solutions once they clearly understand their challenges.
As founder and CEO for 25 years of a strategic communications and branding company, Bart worked with major corporations, nonprofit organizations, and hundreds of schools at every level — primary, secondary, and higher education — on their approaches to communication, strategic planning initiatives, organizational change, and executive presence. In addition to his career in business, Bart is a musician, poet, filmmaker, and father.
“Always with gentleness and humor, Bart helps me face my many challenges — like setting goals, managing faculty, troubleshooting, and decision making — with clarity and confidence.” Lisa Perez, Principal, Private Elementary School
